The Young and the Restless <\/em>is making another big casting move. On the heels of Y&R scooping up soap opera powerhouses Roger Howarth<\/a><\/strong> and Tamara Braun<\/a><\/strong>, the show is also adding Matt Cohen<\/strong> to the cast.<\/p>\n According to Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a>, Cohen is already on the set of The Young and the Restless<\/em>, filming his scenes. Few details about the character or his upcoming storyline have emerged at this point. However, Entertainment Weekly<\/em> shared that Burrow will be “front and center investigating a major case featuring some of the soap’s key characters.”<\/p>\n As Soap Opera Digest<\/em> noted<\/a>, Cohen is no newbie to the soap opera world. About a decade ago, he originated the role of priest-turned-doctor Griffin Munro on General Hospital<\/em>. He left in 2019, seeking new acting challenges.<\/p>\n After leaving General Hospital<\/em>, Cohen joined Entertainment Tonight<\/em> for a while and appeared as a young John Winchester in several episodes of Supernatural<\/em>.<\/p>\n As soon as the news of Cohen’s new role on The Young and the Restless<\/em> emerged, soap fans took to Reddit to discuss it. A common theme in the discussions was that Cohen could have been a perfect recast to take over the role of Chance Chancellor.<\/p>\n Entertainment Weekly<\/em> noted that Chancellor, played by Conner Floyd<\/strong>, was killed off of The Young and the Restless<\/em> in July.<\/p>\n “I never watched [Y&R] but I may start,” one General Hospital<\/em> fan quipped<\/a> on Reddit.<\/p>\n “Hopefully he’s playing someone more interesting on Y&R than he was on GH. I wonder if they’ll pair him with Claire? He and Hayley [Erin]<\/strong> had good chemistry on GH when they were paired together,” a Redditor added<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Matt doesn’t need to be a new character. He could [have] been a recast of someone like a character you just killed.
