The Living End are giving their fans exactly what they\u2019ve been waiting for. The Aussie punk rock stalwarts have announced a string of intimate Q&A sessions along the east coast to mark the arrival of their first album in eight years, I Only Trust Rock n Roll<\/em>, out September 26th via BMG.<\/p>\n Fans will get the chance to quiz the band in person at Melbourne\u2019s The Bendigo (September 28th), Brisbane\u2019s Lefty\u2019s Music Hall (September 30th), and Sydney\u2019s Marrickville Bowling Club (October 1st). Each event will be followed by a signing session for albums and merch. Tickets<\/a> are on sale now.<\/p>\n The record \u2014 the trio\u2019s ninth \u2014 roars with the same sweaty, spitfire energy that\u2019s powered The Living End for more than 25 years. Across eleven tracks, the band lean into their trademark mix of punk fury and rock swagger, with new single \u201cMisery\u201d dropping today, alongside earlier releases \u201cAlfie\u201d, \u201cStrange Place\u201d, and the title track.<\/p>\n Frontman Chris Cheney describes \u201cMisery\u201d as a turning point. \u201cMisery is like a big sigh of relief. It\u2019s about kicking bad habits, shedding negativity and toxic people. That realisation and uplifting feeling of turning your life around and choosing a positive path to walk,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve made my fair share of questionable decisions which have derailed me but like most people, I\u2019m still making mistakes and learning everyday. That\u2019s life. The bit that becomes clearer as you get older is that life is just too damn short to spend it being miserable.\u201d<\/p>\n Musically, the main riff of \u201cMisery\u201d was the first thing Cheney wrote for the album. \u201c(It) set the template for the kind of feel and energy we wanted the whole record to have,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The release of I Only Trust Rock n Roll<\/em> sets the stage for a massive national tour kicking off November 8th, with Brisbane and Adelaide already sold out. Each night, the band will deliver two full sets: one spotlighting songs from the new record mixed with classics like \u201cWhite Noise\u201d, \u201cRoll On\u201d, and \u201cWho\u2019s Gonna Save Us\u201d; the other dedicated to playing their iconic, multi-platinum self-titled debut album front to back, which includes their iconic hits \u201cAll Torn Down\u201d, \u201cSecond Solution\u201d, \u201cPrisoner of Society\u201d, and more.<\/p>\n Special guests have also been confirmed for their Live at the Gardens show at Melbourne\u2019s Royal Botanic Gardens on November 22nd.
