\u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d alum Jorma Taccone can\u2019t walk but is still recovering from a shattered pelvis and detached sacrum after falling from a 20-foot ladder at his Connecticut home.<\/p>\n
The comedian and Lonely Island member revealed the incident on Tuesday\u2019s episode of the podcast, \u201cThe Lonely Island & Seth Meyers<\/a>\u201a” which he co-hosts with fellow Lonely Island members Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg and talk show host Seth Meyers.<\/p>\n The Lonely Island is known for the digital shorts the comedy trio created for SNL from about 2005-2010, including \u201cLazy Sunday,\u201d \u201c[Expletive] in a Box,\u201d and \u201cI\u2019m on a Boat.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a barn, and the back half of the barn has a big white wall. And I was like, \u2018Oh, this is great. We can do a big mural,\u2019\u201d Taccone said to his co-hosts. \u201cThe mural would be very, very large at the top. The apex of this barn is like 25 feet.\u201d<\/p>\n The comedian and director elaborated that he had borrowed a 20-foot ladder from his neighbor, who warned him that it did not have stable footing. Taccone was hanging lights around the barn when he fell directly on his butt.<\/p>\n \u201cI literally have enough time as I\u2019m falling to be like, \u2018I\u2019m going to die,\u2019\u201d he said in the podcast.<\/p>\n The accident happened Aug. 31, on the morning of his daughter\u2019s 5th birthday, according to Us Weekly<\/a>. Taccone had surgery and said his doctors expect him to be able to walk again within three to six months.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a really scary week, and we\u2019re glad that you didn\u2019t hit your head and that you\u2019re not dead,\u201d Schaffer said.<\/p>\n Taccone was a writer and performer on SNL from 2005 to 2014. He has since directed the 2010 film \u201cMacGruber\u201d and its 2021 television sequel. He has also starred in films such as \u201cSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse\u201d and \u201cSonic the Hedgehog 3.\u201d<\/p>\nThe latest from MassLive<\/h2>\n
