Rodney Atkins made it into the headlines recently after he was stopped by airport security for an item in his bag.<\/p>\n
The last time that happened to a country star, Sammy Kershaw forgot to take a handgun out of his luggage earlier this year and he got into some trouble. Good thing for Atkins is that he didn\u2019t have a firearm on him, but he did have something pretty odd.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy husband got flagged at airport security,\u201d Atkins wife, Rose Falcon, shared on social media. \u201cHe had something weird in his bag\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
She accompanied the post with a video, in which she explained that he just got stopped. She then flipped the camera over to Atkins.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat did I get flagged for?\u201d Atkins said reaching into his bag.<\/p>\n
He then pulled out a tube of ground beef.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s packing meat,\u201d Falcon joked. \u201cWonder what they thought it was?\u201d<\/p>\n
It was a tube of Johnsonville beef, and the company jumped into the comments.<\/p>\n
\u201c@tsa me and you are besties \u2026 how can we ensure summer sausage safety?\u201d the company commented. <\/p>\n
The good news is that Atkins was obviously allowed to go on about his way, and it appears he was allowed to take his beef with him. <\/p>\n
Kershaw had a little bit of a rougher time earlier this year when he was found with a loaded handgun. <\/p>\n
The 67-year0old star was reportedly stopped by airport security in Lafayette, Louisiana on May 28 after his bag was flagged. Taste of Country said<\/b> <\/a>that Kershaw was delayed in his travels and ended up being fined $5,000.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was early, I was half-awake and clearly not thinking straight,\u201d Kershaw said in a statement. \u201cI\u2019ve sang songs about heartbreak and hard times but not about forgetting to check my carry-on for a loaded firearm. That\u2019s a new one!\u201d<\/p>\n Kershaw encouraged fans to be sure they check their bags before heading to the airport.<\/p>\n \u201cI guess it\u2019s safe to say I won\u2019t be packing heat to my next show,\u2019 he said. \u201cLet this be your friendly PSA: Check your bags, check \u2018em twice.
