{"id":2002157,"date":"2025-09-06T16:16:28","date_gmt":"2025-09-06T16:16:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2002157"},"modified":"2025-09-06T16:16:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T16:16:28","slug":"fallen-rap-mogul-damon-dash-owes-25m-in-debt-files-for-bankruptcy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/fallen-rap-mogul-damon-dash-owes-25m-in-debt-files-for-bankruptcy\/","title":{"rendered":"Fallen rap mogul Damon Dash owes $25M in debt, files for bankruptcy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F2%2F2025%2F09%2Fdamon-dash-seen-streets-upper-110799814.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Ex-Jay-Z partner and Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash \u2014 who <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/02\/us-news\/washed-up-rap-mogul-who-founded-hit-making-record-label-with-jay-z-on-cusp-of-losing-it-all-or-going-to-jail\/\">has long struggled financially<\/a> \u2014 is $25.3 million in debt and has filed for bankruptcy, court records show.<\/p>\n<p>The 54-year-old fallen music producer has only a measly $4,350 to his name, according to the Chapter 7 bankruptcy documents.<\/p>\n<p>Dash owes nearly $19.8 million in debts to the government and $648,000 in domestic support, including hundreds of thousands of dollars to his ex-wife Rachel Roy \u2013 with whom he shared daughters Ava, 25, and Tallulah, 17.<\/p>\n<p>He also owes Cindy Morales, the mother of his son Lucky, 21, and Linda Williams, mom to his son Boogie, 33, the records filed Thursday in Florida revealed.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Damon Dash listed his total liabilities at $25.3 million, according to the Chapter 7 bankruptcy documents filed in Florida Thursday. <span class=\"credit\">GC Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The court documents put the washed-up rap mogul\u2019s monthly income at $0, and said he does not own any homes, cars, household appliances or electronics, besides a $500 cell phone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>His only other personal assets included two guns valued at $750; $500 worth of clothes and jewelry valued at $2,500; plus $100 cash.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dash \u2013 who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with famed Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z and Kareem \u201cBiggs\u201d Burke in 1994 \u2013 said he was owed a \u201cpossible\u201d but \u201cunknown\u201d amount from Burke in the court docs.<\/p>\n<p>Dash and Jay-Z reportedly had a falling out over finances in the years since making hits such as \u201cHard Knock Life\u201d and \u201c99 Problems\u201d in the 1990s and early 2000s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dash posted a video to Instagram Sept. 4, the same day he filed for bankrutpcy, talking about his health struggles and spending time with a 4-year-old son he shares with fianc\u00e9e Raquel Horn, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/damon-dash-files-for-bankruptcy-claims-25-million-in-debt-11804806\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">People.com<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Dash and Jay-Z reportedly had a falling out over finances in the years since making hits such as \u201cHard Knock Life\u201d and \u201c99 Problems\u201d together in the 1990s and early 2000s.\u00a0 <span class=\"credit\">WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He\u2019s opened up about his financial woes on social media previously, the outlet reported, citing an August 2024 video in which he said he was \u201ccurious to see how it all rolls out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomebody asked me how I got so broke. Investing in my dreams.
