It will deal a devastating blow to the iconic family. Monica\u2019s son Jason Morgan along with her sister-in-law and rival Tracy Quartermaine will be effected the most.<\/p>\n The writers teased that Port Charles will come to mourn the iconic doctor who has been an essential part of the fabric of the community for almost 50 years.<\/p>\n This moment of mourning will also leave a chance for an opportunity to be seized.<\/p>\n Monica\u2019s death will also bring in an exciting arrival for soap fans with an award winning actress assuming a pivotal role. The writers teased \u201cInto all this steps Erika Slezak\u2019s character, who arrives bearing surprising connections to the Quartermaine clan and mysterious ties to others on the canvas.\u201d<\/p>\n As Parade previously reported<\/a>, while Slezak\u2019s role has not been confirmed, all signs point to the actress portraying a new role and not her award winning One Life to Live character, Victoria \u2018Viki\u2019 Lord.<\/p>\n One popular theory on social media is that Slezak will be portraying Monica\u2019s sister, fans will have to stay tuned to see just how Slezak\u2019s character will intertwine with the beloved family.<\/p>\n Fans have been conflicted about Slezak\u2019s arrival, but a lot are coming in with an optimistic perspective.
