Four of rock\u2019s biggest names, past and present, will honor Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong> at the 2025 MTV VMAs.<\/p>\n Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler<\/strong> and Joe Perry<\/strong>, Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt<\/strong>, and YUNGBLUD<\/strong> will salute the legendary rock star with a medley of his greatest hits, says an MTV press release<\/a>. This unique performance will honor Osbourne’s contributions to the music industry and the world of heavy metal.<\/p>\n The tribute will take place six weeks after the singer’s death. Osbourne died of a heart attack on July 22, 2025 reported The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n Just weeks before, Osbourne performed on stage for the final time with his Black Sabbath bandmates. You have no idea how I feel \u2014 thank you from the bottom of my heart. You\u2019re all \u2026 special. Let\u2019s go crazy \u2014 come on!\u201d<\/p>\n Ozzy Osbourne is survived by his wife, Sharon Osbourne<\/strong>, their three children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack<\/strong>, and his grandchildren. From his marriage to Thelma Riley<\/strong>, he also has three older children, Jessica, Louis, and Elliot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n His family released a statement on Instagram<\/a> after his death. It read, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”<\/p>\n The 2025 MTV VMAs air live on both CBS and MTV from New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
