The Goonies<\/em><\/a> actress Martha Plimpton<\/a> revealed what it was like to work with John Matuszak, who wore intense makeup while playing Sloth.<\/p>\n The Task<\/em><\/a> star appeared on a recent episode<\/a> of Lovett or Leave It.<\/em> While playing a game about her career highlights, host Jon Lovett asked her what Sloth was like on the set of The Goonies<\/em>.<\/p>\n “Inaudible because he had all that prosthetic makeup and that whole mask,” Plimpton said. “The poor man was sweating.”<\/p>\n In the film, Sloth was the lovable black sheep of the Fratelli crime family who ends up saving the Goonies. He has distorted prosthetic facial features, which apparently made him difficult to hear.<\/p>\n Plimpton recalled that Matuszak was a “lovely guy.” The actor died at 38<\/a> in 1989, a few years after The Goonies<\/em> came out. The cause of death was an accidental drug overdose.<\/p>\n The Raising Hope <\/em>actress also remarked on the cult status of The Goonies<\/em>. She said it was “very strange” that the movie has become such a coming-of-age classic.<\/p>\n “I don’t know,” she said. “It’s something about it.
