The Blast<\/a>, the former actress reflected on her milestone with an emotional post on Instagram, writing, “I can’t believe millions of you (millions ?!) have taken the time to read this book and have connected with it so deeply.”<\/p>\nAfter the book’s release, McCurdy spent time on the road promoting it, and during a stop in Sydney, Australia, the 33-year-old had a mind-altering experience.<\/p>\n
“Speaking at the Sydney Opera House was unforgettable!! Years ago, I hit what I consider my ‘rock bottom’ in Australia, in the backseat of an Uber, while looking at the Sydney Opera House from afar, down a tooth and a lot of hope, fresh off purging my Tim Tams,” she wrote online.<\/p>\n
“I was at a place where I didn’t really believe things could get better but knew if there was any chance of that happening, of things changing, that I was gonna have to start by changing the only thing I had any control over: myself.”<\/p>\n
After returning to Australia under “different circumstances,” McCurdy explained how things had changed for her.<\/p>\n
“To have gone back to Australia now, years later, under completely different circumstances, for a career I am proud of and, more importantly, as a person I am proud of – and to connect with an audience in a real, meaningful way (IN THE F-CKING SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE ITSELF!! ) was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for me.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
