After welcoming her first child into the world, Lauren Alaina<\/strong> is ready to embark on a new journey! The country music<\/a> star and former\u00a0American Idol<\/a><\/em>\u00a0frontrunner took to Instagram on Saturday, Sept. 6, where she revealed the new ambitious undertaking she plans to commit to \u2014 completing a 10K.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s up?\u201d Alaina, 30, asked her fans in the post, while dressed in an olive-green hoodie, telling her followers and fans that she had already begun training for the lengthy run six weeks ago. \u201cI am training for a 10k. I started training at 10 weeks postpartum, 10k at 10 weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lauren Alaina Will Be Running the 10K With Her Sister-In-Law<\/h2>\n

\u201cI figured you\u2019d like to follow along on my journey and see if I actually do it,\u201d Alaina added before revealing, \u201cMy sister<\/a>-in-law asked me to do a 10k with her. I downloaded an app that helps me go from zero running<\/a> to running about six miles. I started a couple of weeks ago, and then I thought maybe you\u2019d all like to hear about it, so I\u2019m going to take you all on my run with me today.\u201d<\/p>\n

While filming the video, the Georgia-born artist also shared that she was taking a short break before her gig in Edgerton, Wis., to get out and pound some pavement. As a new mommy, Alaina added that her mother would be watching her child while she went on her jog, which found her completing six 90-second runs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe baby is taking a nap, and\u00a0Mom is going to hang out on the bus with her. So I\u2019m going to do a little \u2018me time,\u2019\u201d Alaina explains in the clip. \u201cI wish my \u2018me time\u2019 was getting a massage, but instead I\u2019m going to go run. The first run is usually pretty easy, but after that, it\u2019s like, \u2018help!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

While dashing through a small-town neighborhood completing the first interval, the \u201cRoad Less Traveled\u201d singer shared that she had to pause her training because \u201cMy mom just called and the baby won\u2019t nap and she thinks she\u2019s hungry, so I\u2019m going to go nurse her.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alaina was able to resume her running schedule five hours later, proving that she is fully determined to finish the future 10K.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s been four hours. I fed the baby twice, and I\u2019m going to try to run again, five hours later,\u201d Alaina shared, adding that each interval. \u201cGets a little harder, and a little easier because I know I\u2019m getting closer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJust finished my last run,\u201d Alaina says at the end of the video. \u201cOK. Now it\u2019s time to cool down. Let\u2019s go see the baby!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cGirl!!!!! 10k??? I\u2019m training for 5\/k reindeer run in December<\/a>. I\u2019ll do that with ya !!!\u201d Messina offered, to which Alaina replied, \u201cI would love that!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alaina and her husband, Cam Arnold<\/strong>, welcomed their first baby, a daughter named Beni Doll Arnold<\/strong>, into the world in June. Since then, the singer\/songwriter has hit the road, playing shows with both her baby girl and mother, Kristy Suddeth<\/strong>, in tow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so overwhelmed with the thought of going back on the road after having my daughter. I was scared. I was excited. I was dreading it. I couldn\u2019t wait. Our newest member of the band is making our shows even better than before,\u201d Alaina recently captioned an Instagram post, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look into what it\u2019s like having a baby on board and her mom there to help out as she tours across the country. \u201cI could not have done it without my momma out there taking care of us both.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
