I like to celebrate this iconic award show by baking a VMAs cake (very serious about this) and locking the fuck in. This year, you can catch the show on CBS for the first time, and it\u2019s also streaming live on Paramount+.<\/p>\n<p>This award show is known for being a truly chaotic, zany experience \u2014 from <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/betches.com\/all-the-reputations-taylor-swift-tried-to-ruin-in-honor-of-reputation\/\">Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift<\/a> to Miley Cyrus twerking alongside giant teddy bears to Fifth Harmony brutally shading Camila Cabello, you just never know what\u2019s about to happen. And for the most part, the performances do not disappoint\u2026 I\u2019m still dreaming about <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/betches.com\/chappell-roan-vma-performance\/\">Chappell Roan\u2019s 2024 VMAs rendition of \u201cGood Luck, Babe!\u201d<\/a> And Ariana Grande\u2019s 2018 \u201cGod Is a Woman\u201d performance lives in my mind rent-free.<\/p>\n<p>This year, we can look forward to performances by a variety of pop legends, including Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae, and Mariah Carey. And, uh, TikToker Alex Warren is somehow also included in that lineup\u2026 no further comment. (Justice for Addison Rae, the TikToker-turned pop sensation who should be performing!!)<\/p>\n<p>While the VMAs are, of course, about the music and memorable moments, they\u2019re also about epic fashion! I just know Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga are gonna eat down in that department. (Taylor Swift\u2019s reportedly skipping the event this year, so we\u2019ll be spared at least one painfully mid dress.)<\/p>\n<p>As always, I\u2019m praying the girls wow me with their fits this year. (Don\u2019t really GAF about men, but they\u2019re more than welcome to exceed my expectations.)
