Taylor Swift<\/a> did not grace us with her presence at tonight\u2019s MTV Video Music Awards<\/a> red carpet, despite being nominated for Artist of the Year.<\/p>\n

The superstar\u2019s absence is likely due to the fact that she received only one nomination\u2014for Artist of the Year\u2014at this year\u2019s award show, while at the 2024 VMAs she received a whopping 12 nominations and ended up taking home seven moon person trophies.<\/p>\n

(If she wins the Artist of the Year award tonight, Swift could become the artist with the most VMAs in history. Currently she is tied with Beyonc\u00e9 at 30.)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s possible that the singer will return to the VMAs stage next year, as it will likely be a big one for her, since her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl will be released on October 3 and be eligible for awards. (Click here<\/a> for everything to know about the album.)<\/p>\n

As readers know, Swift recently became engaged<\/a> to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, whom she began dating in 2023. The NFL star proposed to her in August, and the two shared the happy news via a joint Instagram post. \u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married \ud83e\udde8,\u201d they wrote alongside a series of photos of the dreamy garden proposal.<\/p>\n

Some days after their engagement, Swift and Kelce were seen<\/a> at a college football game in Kansas City, Missouri. They have stayed out of the spotlight since.<\/p>\n

This past Friday, Kelce and his team flew to S\u00e3o Paolo, Brazil, for their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Swift was not spotted with him, or in attendance at the game, but with the \u201cFortnight\u201d singer, you really never know.<\/p>\n
