Speculation is mounting over whether King Charles and Prince Harry will meet during the Duke of Sussex\u2019s return to the UK, with insiders warning that any attempt at reconciliation could be full of risk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Prince Harry is due to arrive in London on Monday (local time) for the WellChild Awards, a charity event he has long supported.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His visit also coincides with the third anniversary of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s passing. It will be the Duke\u2019s longest stay in Britain since her funeral.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Royal observers believe the visit presents the strongest opportunity yet for a face-to-face meeting with his father, but doubts remain over whether a private catch-up can be managed without drama.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Renowned royal biographer Tom Bower sounded a note of caution, warning that King Charles has much to lose if the talks turn sour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere would be huge levels of emotion involved if they meet,\u201d he told The Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhatever Charles is facing, he would much prefer to have a good relationship with his son, so I\u2019m sure he wants reconciliation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite the caution surrounding him, Prince Harry is said to remain hopeful of restoring ties. One close friend of the Duke\u2019s told The Times that he wants his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to grow up knowing their family in the UK.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
