Aaron Taylor-Johnson went to “explosives boot camp” before filming Fuze.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old actor plays military bomb expert Will Tranter in director David Mackenzie’s new film and he enjoyed getting the chance to work with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Nick Orr, who served in the military and now works as an EOD specialist with voluntary organisations in war-torn countries.<\/p>\n
He told The Hollywood Reporter: \u201cWe dug deep to build the character.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne example was bringing on Nick Orr, our professional EOD [Explosive Ordnance Disposal] consultant. I was genuinely inspired by his service.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had the opportunity to go through an \u2018explosives boot camp,\u2019 learning how to build and detonate them.”<\/p>\n
Theo James also stars in the film and though Aaron enjoyed working with the White Lotus star, he was disappointed they didn’t have many scenes together.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI\u2019ve admired his work for a long time.<\/p>\n
We had a rare weekend before filming with David to rehearse and collaborate on our scenes.<\/p>\n
“[My only regret was] that we didn\u2019t have more to do, as he\u2019s a generous scene partner.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was inspired by his choices and I really enjoyed being in his presence.\u201d<\/p>\n
And the Bullet Train star was happy to film in the heart of London.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI love filming in London and the local crews are exceptional.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the challenge for us was locking off streets and having our background cast evacuate en masse. Then resetting, whilst letting the traffic pass through.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fuze gave Aaron the chance to reunite with his Outlaw King director David and he finds the filmmaker’s way of working “exciting”.<\/p>\n
He said: “[The script] felt original, fast-paced \u2014 a twisted, suspenseful crime drama set in London.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe prospect of working with [Mackenzie] again felt exciting, as I love his process and style. He\u2019s always striving to capture the authenticity in every moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, David admitted there is already a possibility of a Fuze sequel further down the line.<\/p>\n
Asked if the door is open for a second movie, the director said: \u201cYeah. And we\u2019ve already started investigating. So if it catches the imagination of the audience \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
