Jack Osbourne revealed that his father, Ozzy Osbourne, was in a happy place at the time of his death at age 76. The Black Sabbath legend died on July 22, just 17 days after performing an epic farewell show, Back to the Beginning, at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham.<\/p>\n
Addressing fans in a lengthy YouTube video<\/a> in September 2025, Osbourne\u2019s son Jack recalled that in his final weeks of life, his father basked in the afterglow of his star-studded final show.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter his show, I stuck around for a week with my kids and hung out at the family house in England, and it was awesome,\u201d Jack recalled. \u201cMy dad was in an amazing mood. He was really happy. Every day he was opening up the newspaper and seeing different reviews and different stories from the Back to the Beginning show, and it was great.”<\/p>\n Jack, who said he was \u201cgrateful\u201d for the time with his dad, reiterated, \u201cMy dad was great, he was happy.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that while his father had medical issues, his impending death was not on anyone\u2019s \u201cradar.\u201d He also revealed that his famous father had hoped to spend the final chapter of his life with his children and grandchildren.<\/p>\n “My dad was so happy that he did the show, and he was happy to kind of move into this next phase of his life,\u201d Jack said. \u201cHe wanted to spend more time in England. He wanted to spend more time with my kids. He wanted to spend more time just exploring different things as much as he could.”<\/p>\n Ozzy Osbourne\u2019s cause of death<\/a> was listed as cardiac arrest and “acute myocardial infarction,” with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction listed as “joint causes.\u201d<\/p>\n After his death was announced in July, a source told <\/a>Page Six<\/a>that the Back to the Beginning show had given hope to the singer. \u201cIt energized him \u2014 it filled him with life,\u201d the insider said of the show. \u201cHe\u2019d really been slowing down, and then after the show he was really back to be being himself. It\u2019s a beautiful ending.\u201d<\/p>\n Another insider told<\/a> People <\/a>magazine<\/a> that Osbourne\u2019s final days were happy ones. \u201cOzzy\u2019s final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music, and in the place he called home. He was in peace,\u201d the insider said.<\/p>\n The Osbourne family members are happy to have the memories of the Back to the Beginning show. In a post shared to Instagram<\/a>, Jack shared backstage footage of Ozzy smiling and greeting fellow rock legends such as Aerosmith\u2019s Steven Tyler and Metallica\u2019s James Hetfield.
