As the Toronto International Film Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, there may be no two people better suited to talk about this milestone than Tom Bernard<\/a> and Michael Barker<\/a>, the co-presidents of Sony Pictures Classics<\/a> who have spent decades making the annual trek to Canada to screen films that include (but certainly aren\u2019t limited to) Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon<\/a>, Whiplash<\/a> and last year\u2019s best international feature Oscar winner, I\u2019m Still Here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ahead of this year\u2019s festival \u2014 where the distributor is screening Richard Linklater<\/a>\u2019s Blue Moon<\/a>, the historical drama Nuremberg and Scarlett Johansson<\/a>\u2019s directorial debut, Eleanor the Great<\/a> \u2014 Bernard and Barker<\/a> discuss some of their favorite memories, from sharing a green room with Jimmy Carter<\/a> to cheering on Philip Seymour Hoffman<\/a> with the actor\u2019s mom.<\/p>\n
