At this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, Ricky Martin<\/a> received the first-ever Latin Icon award and performed a medley of some of his biggest hits. Before his performance, he shared photos of himself<\/a> shirtless on Instagram and X and in the caption, he shared that he had a wardrobe malfunction while getting ready.<\/p>\n “Lots of laughter, friends and even a little wardrobe malfunction (I can sew if need be by the way),” the caption reads. “lots of Make Up and grooming and friends around! it\u2019s gonna be a very special day.” He knew exactly what he was doing posting these photos<\/a> of himself because he was immediately flooded with commenters fawning over him. “Good lord man, what is your secret???” one person asked.<\/p>\n But everything seemed to work out on his end and he fixed things before walking down the red carpet, a video of which he also shared on Instagram as well.<\/p>\n During the show, he took the stage to perform a medley of his hits, which included “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” “P\u00e9gate,” “Vente Pa\u2019 Ca,” and “Mar\u00eda.”<\/p>\n After the performance, Jessica Simpson presented him with the inaugural award. In his speech, he thanked the fans and his family for the support throughout the years. “This is very simple. This is for you all,” he said. “I\u2019m addicted to your applause. That\u2019s why I keep coming back. It\u2019s you, not only here in America, but all over the world.”<\/p>\n Martin went on to dedicate the award to his four kids and said, “\u201cEverything I do, I do it with you in my mind and in my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
