{"id":2007061,"date":"2025-09-08T19:10:28","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T19:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2007061"},"modified":"2025-09-08T19:10:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T19:10:28","slug":"wealthy-new-yorkers-are-throwing-parties-as-elaborate-as-broadway-shows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/wealthy-new-yorkers-are-throwing-parties-as-elaborate-as-broadway-shows\/","title":{"rendered":"Wealthy New Yorkers are throwing parties as elaborate as Broadway shows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F2%2F2025%2F09%2F110983697.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>It\u2019s all for show. <\/p>\n<p>The wealthiest New Yorkers are no longer just having fancy parties, they\u2019re staging events with elaborate, world-class entertainment elements, from violinists suspended from the ceiling playing rock songs to boudoir circus acts. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c[We work] with a roster of talent that rivals productions from Broadway to Vegas,\u201d Darren Olarsch, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/onthemove.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">founder of On The Move Entertainment,<\/a> an event production company based in NoMad, told The Post.\u00a0\u201cOur office is literally a cabaret.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>New York entertainment producers to the 1% are taking ordinary event stages to new heights, including having violinists suspended from the ceiling. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The same event also featured a piano performance by John Legend. <span class=\"credit\">On The Move Entertainment<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier this year, Olarsch worked with one high-net worth client who requested aerial musicians perform above the stage at Midtown event space The Shed.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>To make it happen, Olarsch and Co. had to install aerial straps on the stage ceiling, and get a fleet of violinists certified in aerial lift training so they could perform hits like \u201cSky Full of Stars,\u201d by Coldplay and \u201cFly Like An Eagle\u201d by Steve Miller in the air.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe sent them to acrobatic school and got them trained and certified for the event,\u201d Olarsch said of the extravagant affair, which was punctuated with a piano performance by John Legend.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>One billionaire requested a \u201cnaughty circus\u201d after party that required a stage carousel made out of florals, complete with shirtless boudoir dancers.   <span class=\"credit\">Christian Oth Studios<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For another high roller, Olarsch came up with an idea to put a life-size glass jewelry box \u2014 with a classically trained ballerina twirling inside \u2014\u00a0in the center of the Russian Tea Room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat better eye candy than having a living Russian Jewelry Box pop up in the Russian Tea Room?\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, it\u2019s all about making an entrance. For the wedding of Jordan Serafino, 31, who works in the spirits industry, and entrepreneur Anthony Serafino, 33, Olarsch\u2019s team worked to optimize the acoustics in the historic opera boxes at The Plaza Hotel. That way, the venue was able to properly accommodate a performance by three tenors recreating Andrea Bocelli\u2019s rendition of John Legend\u2019s \u201cAll of Me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the top of the performance, Anthony and I walked in,\u201d Jordan recalled. \u201cIt felt like we were walking onto a movie set.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>For another high roller, On The Move dreamt up a life-size glass jewelry box installed at the center of the Russian Tea Room. The reception was held at the base of the Great Pyramids of Giza.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the first ever event in the grand Egyptian Museum which wasn\u2019t even open to the public.
