Legendary actress Kim Novak is coming to terms with her own life in a new documentary.<\/p>\n
The 92-year-old actress made a heartbreaking admission in her documentary \u201cKim Novak\u2019s Vertigo,\u201d which premiered at at the 82nd Venice Film Festival on Sept. 1. The film takes a look at Novak\u2019s life and decades-long career.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not easy getting old,\u201d Novak said in the film, per Parade<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m feeling it\u2019s close to the end,\u201d she continued, adding, \u201cI\u2019ve been feeling the need to free something.\u201d<\/p>\n A Chicago native who has worked with the likes of Jimmy Stewart and Frank Sinatra, Novak\u2019s career began in 1954. She appeared in several high-profile films straight out the gate before earning her arguably most prominent part in Alfred Hitchcock\u2019s 1958 movie \u201cVertigo.\u201d Her accolades include two Golden Globe Awards, an Honorary Golden Bear, a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.<\/p>\n However, after about a decade in Hollywood, Novak moved to Oregon and became an artist in 1966.<\/p>\n \u201cI had to leave to survive. It was a survival issue,\u201d the actress told PEOPLE<\/a> in 2021. \u201cI lost a sense of who I truly was and what I stood for.\u201d<\/p>\n Novak sporadically made movies through 1991. She formally retired in 1992. The actress is now viewing her documentary as a way to \u201cwrap up\u201d her life,\u201d according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLike you would in a confessional, I expressed the things that mattered and meant something to my life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\nMore Celebrity News<\/span><\/h2>\n
