Michael Caine is ending his retirement<\/a> at 92 years old to revive one of his most iconic roles.<\/p>\n The Academy Award<\/a>-winning actor left his fans in dismay when he announced his retirement<\/a> two years ago.<\/p>\n Now, in a surprising twist, Michael is expected to return to Hollywood<\/a> for the highly-anticipated sequel of The Last Witch Hunter.<\/p>\n According to Variety, Lionsgate and Vin Diersel\u2019s production company One Race Films is in the process of fast-tracking development.<\/p>\n Aside from the Fast & Furious actor set to once again lead the film, no casting deals have been finalized, including Michael\u2019s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Within the first movie, the actor played Father Dolan, also known as the 36th Dolan. He was a trusted priest and mentor to Kaulder, the main character played by Vin.<\/p>\n The film\u2019s synopsis on Netflix reads, \u201cWhen a powerful coven aims to unleash a deadly plague on New York<\/a>, an immortal witch hunter, a priest and a young witch must thwart the lethal plan.\u201d<\/p>\n Vin and Michael were joined on screen in 2015 by Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood and Julie Engelbrecht. While there are rumors about Michael\u2019s involvement in the sequel, there has been no word about the rest of the original cast reprising their roles.<\/p>\n The Last Witch Hunter originally started out as a passion project for Vin, who previously advertised it as his own Dungeons & Dragons<\/a> campaigns.<\/p>\n Although the film earned just $27 million at the North American box office, it found significantly greater success internationally and on streaming platforms.
