It seems the White House\u2019s social media team just reads the headlines. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n On Sunday, <\/span>@Rapid Response 47<\/span><\/a> \u2014 an official X account for President <\/span>Donald Trump<\/span><\/a>\u2019s administation \u2014 retweeted a Daily Mail article that boasted the headline \u201cTrump critic Bruce Springsteen and stony faced celebs watch US Open final after POTUS triumphantly greets crowd.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cOh no! How will we ever recover from the pathetic (but hilarious) crying of Loser Bruce Springsteen and Newly Unemployed Stephen Colbert? \ud83d\ude31,\u201d the account quote-tweeted in response.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The problem is, if one were to \u2014 oh, we don\u2019t know, <\/span>click on the article and read it<\/span><\/a> \u2014 it becomes immediately clear that the Daily Mail headline is a bit of a stretch.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The piece mainly lists all the celebrities and public figures who attended Sunday\u2019s U.S. Open men\u2019s final, in which Spain\u2019s Carlos Alcaraz defeated Italy\u2019s Jannik Sinner. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n It does mention that <\/span>\u201cTrump\u2019s presence at the final was divisive among fans, many of whom were delayed entering due to the increased security.\u201d <\/span>But the article goes on to note that Springsteen and Colbert were \u201call smiles at center court\u201d \u2014 not exactly the \u201cstony faced celebs\u201d promised in the headline. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n It would be understandable if tennis fans were annoyed by the chaos that Trump brought to the event, however. One <\/span>anonymous source told the celebrity.land\u2019s Page Six<\/a><\/span> that the heightened security affected everyone in attendance, including non-famous folks. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt is an absolute s\u2013-tshow,\u201d the source told Page Six. \u201cCars can\u2019t get into parking lots and people are walking miles. Even celebs are having to wait like normies.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The source added that celebrities like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas and Ben Stiller were spotted \u201cwaiting in line, like everyone else,\u201d and Debra Messing \u201csat in a car for an hour and they wouldn\u2019t let her out.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n It\u2019s not surprising that Trump\u2019s social media team would pounce on the opportunity to mock Springsteen, considering he\u2019s been openly critical of the president<\/a>.
