The 60-year-old singer dropped the song in the late 1990s and it became a major hit. But she wrote that for her husband at the time, music producer Robert \u201cMutt\u201d Lange. So, naturally, when they split up, she admitted in a recent interview that she fell out of love with her hit for quite some time.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, I\u2019m not just saying this because it seems obvious, but \u2018You\u2019re Still the One\u2019 really is one of my favorites to do live,\u201d she said in an interview with ETalk. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve gone through quite a few stages with that song of, not really even wanting to sing it live for a while, just thinking, \u2018Well, okay, I\u2019m divorced now, does it really mean what it used to mean when I wrote it?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Twain said that she was able to gain \u201cnewfound appreciation\u201d for the song though when she viewed it from her fans\u2019 perspective.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s mostly fans, fans love it, they want to hear it,\u201d she said. \u201cIt means so much to them in so many ways. They\u2019re either getting married to it, or have been married to it, or had an anniversary, or a friendship, or whatever it is.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s more the meaning that it is, or that it represents, to everybody else that makes it so meaningful to me again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alos, she shared good news for her fans, announcing that she is in the process of making a seventh album that is \u201cgoing to be different than maybe what anyone is expecting.\u201d<\/p>\n
People Magazine reported that \u201cYou\u2019re Still the One\u201d was nominated for four Grammy Awards in 1999 and took home two, winning for Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. <\/p>\n
The outlet said the song spent 42 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, taking the top spot on May 2, 1998 and hanging there for two weeks. <\/p>\n
