Prince Harry has reportedly suffered a setback with the departure of another key ally from one of his charities.<\/a><\/p>\n Edward Lane Fox, who served as Harry<\/a>‘s private secretary for five years and was instrumental in the Invictus Games<\/a> from its inception, has resigned from the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Lane Fox, a former captain of the Household Cavalry, is said to have left his position earlier this year on February 28, coinciding with the departure of another trustee, Patrick Nicoll.<\/p>\n From May 2013 until May 2018, Lane Fox worked closely with Prince Harry<\/a> as his private secretary, and continued in this role for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their wedding in 2018<\/a> until July of the same year. In addition to his secretarial duties, Lane Fox supported the Duke’s Invictus charity, which was established in 2014. He joined its Board of Trustees the following year.<\/p>\n Reports suggest that Harry and Lane Fox had a close relationship, with the latter being described as a “bridge between Harry’s old life and new”. However, the Sussex office did not comment on the departures, according to Alison Boshoff of the Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n An insider at Invictus suggested that Harry’s old friends within the charity had gradually “fallen away” as they had reached the end of their terms. Other notable figures who have distanced themselves from Invictus this year include some of Harry’s closest supporters, such as JJ Charlmers, a Royal Marine reservist and gold medalist at the Invictus Games, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
