Amy Robach<\/strong><\/a> and T.J. Holmes<\/strong><\/a> are having an open dialogue about the possibility of expanding their family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on, but we have talked more lately about having kids. We have talked more lately about the idea of even adopting a child and usually it\u2019s me bringing it up to you,\u201d Holmes, 48, told Robach, 52, on the Monday, September 8, episode of iHeartRadio\u2019s \u201cAmy & T.J.\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cUsually the response is the one you all just heard. She laughs at me. She\u2019s laughing at me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robach explained that she found the idea humorous because she was told more than a decade prior that she was \u201cout of the baby making business\u201d following her cancer diagnosis. (Robach was diagnosed with breast cancer<\/a> in 2013, undergoing eight rounds of chemotherapy and a breast reconstruction surgery before being diagnosed cancer-free.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI do chuckle, because yes, that was a painful thing to hear at 40. But I have come to peace with it and am very happy to have had two children,\u201d Robach said. \u201cI\u2019m saying this genuinely \u2014 my girls have now gone off \u2014 but to have Sabine around is joy. I absolutely totally appreciate and actually really look forward to and love having that childlike, that sweetness around. It\u2019s awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robach is mom to Ava and Annalise<\/a>, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Andrew Shue<\/strong> in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Holmes, meanwhile, shares Brianna and Jaiden<\/a> with ex-wife Amy Ferson<\/strong> and daughter Sabine with ex-wife Marilee Fiebig<\/strong>. (Shue and Fiebig are now dating.)<\/p>\n

\u201cFor whatever reason, our own family is something that even I lately can relate to,\u201d Holmes shared. \u201cIt\u2019s not even a matter of watching you and your girls, you watching me with mine. It\u2019s just really a matter of when you are with you can\u2019t help but want to create your own unit. And yes, those units sometimes come from other pieces and places coming together, but you can have them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robach and Holmes\u2019 romance first made headlines in 2022, when they were both married. The following year, ABC fired the couple for their off-screen relationship. As the pair continues to navigate their relationship, a source exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> that an \u201cengagement is coming.\u201d<\/p>\n
