This is still Jeopardy!<\/em><\/a>, just with a new opening. Before the game show<\/a> starts every evening, a small intro plays that has the name of the show and the announcer, Johnny Gilbert<\/a>, saying the iconic line, \u201cThis is Jeopardy!\u201d<\/p>\n The old one used to start with the studio lights turning on, cameras being set up, and what goes on behind the scenes. Then, Johnny Gilbert is shown putting on his jacket and saying the line. However, in the new one, he was cut out.<\/p>\n The word \u201cJeopardy!\u201d appears on the screen before the audience is shown clapping. Then, the players are announced, host Ken Jennings<\/a> walks out, and the game begins.<\/p>\n In the new opening, the words \u201cFrom the Alex Trebek<\/a> Stage, at Sony Pictures Studio, this is Jeopardy!<\/em>\u201d still plays. However, words from popular categories, such as \u201cHistory, Music, Art, and Geography,\u201d are shown.<\/p>\n The money board then folds over the words and turns into the earth like before. Then the word \u201cJeopardy!\u201d appears on the screen. The audience is still shown clapping before the contestants are announced, and Jennings walks out. The change is subtle if you aren\u2019t looking closely enough.<\/p>\n Eagle-eyed Jeopardy!<\/em> fans didn\u2019t miss it though. \u201cDid you like the new opening?\u201d a Facebook user posted in the group, Jeopardy! Fans Who Don\u2019t Care Who\u2019s Hosting<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cYes, it\u2019s so cool!\u201d said one fan.<\/p>\n \u201cYes. Everything looked brighter!\u201d wrote another.<\/p>\n \u201cI loved it! I texted my sister immediately to make sure she saw it! Very \u2018glam!’\u201d a third added.<\/p>\n Some fans were not happy about Gilbert being erased. \u201cSad they edited out Johnny Gilbert. High-tech graphics are the way of the future, just no AI please,\u201d a fan said.<\/p>\n Johnny Gilbert, 97, has been the announcer for Jeopardy!<\/em> since 1984.<\/p>\n
