Hilary Duff<\/a>\u2019s days of making music are no longer \u201cso yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n On Tuesday, it was announced that the Disney Channel alum had signed with Atlantic Records, per Variety<\/a>. Not only that, but she will be releasing a docuseries that chronicles her journey back to music and explores her personal life.<\/p>\n According to a press release, the docuseries will show \u201cthe ups, downs and everything in between,\u201d and promises that \u201cfans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade.\u201d<\/p>\n It will be directed and executive-produced by Sam Wrench, who worked on \u201cA Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter\u201d and \u201cTaylor Swift: The Eras Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n Duff\u2019s fifth and last studio album was \u201cBreathe In. Breathe Out,\u201d which was released in June 2015. In 2020, she briefly came out of retirement to release an EDM cover of Third Eye Blind\u2019s hit \u201cNever Let You Go\u201d with her husband Matthew Koma, the lead singer of Winnetka Bowling League. But as for releasing original music, Duff had seemingly put the pen down.<\/p>\n However, she kept busy with her acting career, appearing in the comedy series “Younger”<\/a> from 2015 to 2021 as well as Hulu\u2019s \u201cHow I Met Your Father\u201d<\/a> from 2022 to 2023, which she served as a producer on.<\/p>\n She also shifted her focus to motherhood after marrying Koma in 2019. They share three daughters together: Banks, 6, Mae, 4, and Townes, 16 months. Duff also has one son, Luca, 13, from her marriage to Mike Comrie.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear when the \u201cCome Clean\u201d singer will be putting out this highly anticipated new music, but she shared photos<\/a> in the studio with Koma on Tuesday. \u201cNew music \u2026 or something,” she wrote in the caption. <\/p>\n This will be Duff\u2019s first time working with Atlantic Records.<\/p>\n Her past records were produced through Buena Vista Records (Disney Music Group), Hollywood Records, and RCA Records. Duff first rose to fame as the titular character on Disney Channel\u2019s coming-of-age comedy \u201cLizzie McGuire,\u201d<\/a> which premiered in 2001. She began making music the following year.
