Jason Momoa<\/a> has waited his entire life to make Chief of War<\/a>, the ambitious new Apple TV+ series that dramatizes the reunification of Hawai\u2019i in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. After making a career largely out of playing fictional action heroes \u2014 Aquaman in the DC Universe<\/a>, an ill-fated nomadic warlord in Game of Thrones<\/a>, a swordmaster in the Dune<\/a> movies \u2014 the 46-year-old finally gets to play a real-life superhero in a passion project set in his father\u2019s homeland.<\/p>\n

Co-created by Momoa and Thomas Pa\u2019a Sibbett<\/a>, the nine-part series \u2014 which could be renewed for more seasons \u2014 stars Momoa as Native Hawaiian warrior Ka\u2019iana.
