Going to the movies is soon to feel a whole lot different in Parker.<\/p>\n

But for now, the Douglas County town located southeast of Denver is without a large-scale movie theater to take in all the new hits. The nearest AMC theater is located on Parker Road north in Aurora.<\/p>\n

However, after Sunday\u2019s closure of the AMC Classic Twenty Mile 10 location, a luxury theater entertainment company is stepping in to renovate Parker\u2019s two-decade old AMC theater.<\/p>\n

The AMC 20 Mile Theatre in Parker closed Sept. 7 after more than 20 years. It was Parker\u2019s only movie theater. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Tuesday, the theater doors read in paint \u201cthank you for 20 years of movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAMC routinely reviews the theatres in our circuit, as well as opportunities outside of our circuit, and makes decisions based on what will best strengthen the company going forward,\u201d an AMC spokesperson told Denver Gazette news partner 9NEWS on the Parker location closing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thank our Twenty Mile 10 guests for their patronage and encourage them to continue enjoying the AMC experience at AMC Arapahoe Crossing 16,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Emagine Entertainment has acquired the original Parker AMC, located at 18625 Stage Run Road, with a set goal date to open next spring. The building\u2019s 2025 actual value is $5,228,854, according to the Douglas County Assessor.<\/p>\n

In a news release Tuesday, Emagine officials said renovations expect to result in \u201ca premium entertainment destination unlike anything currently available in the community.<\/p>\n

The new theater will encompass 10 \u201cstate-of-the-art\u201d screens, including two EMX auditoriums, within 32,000 square feet of space, according to the entertainment company.<\/p>\n

Not to mention heated recliner seats.<\/p>\n

Included in the renovation are Emagine\u2019s \u201clarge-format theater\u201d with \u201ca massive screen, state-of-the-art 4K projection, and Dolby Atmos immersive audio for a deeply engaging movie experience,\u201d officials said.<\/p>\n

Emagine officials said its offerings in Parker will include a full bar with craft cocktails, beer and wine to drink while watching their film. That, of course, includes \u201cenhanced concession\u201d items from quesadillas, chicken fingers, pretzel bites and hot dogs, according to Emagine\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

The theater company operates 27 theaters across Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Some locations feature bowling, duckpin bowling and axe throwing.<\/p>\n

This is Emagine\u2019s first Colorado location.<\/p>\n
