Cardi B<\/a> was recently at the center of an assault trial, for which she was found not guilty<\/a>.<\/p>\n The trial made headlines and inspired memes, particularly following the plaintiff\u2019s attorney, Ron Rosen\u2019s questioning of Cardi, who was accused of scratching the plaintiff\u2019s face, attempting to swing at her but missing, body shaming her, calling her a racial slur, and spitting on her in 2018.<\/p>\n Cardi was pregnant at the time of the alleged confrontation with the plaintiff, Emani Ellis, who was working as a security guard at an obstetrics and gynecology facility in Beverly Hills.<\/p>\n Comedian and newly minted The Daily Show<\/em><\/a> host, Josh Johnson, made light of the incident during a stand-up set.<\/p>\n COMPLEX SHOP:<\/b> Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. I\u2019m wondering why you felt so threatened? What was the issue?\u2019 Then, Cardi B says, \u2018I was pregnant and she\u2019s coming at me. I think she wants to beat me up, and I\u2019m pregnant, hello? Hello?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then he goes, \u2018Hello? Hello? Hello, I\u2019m here.\u2019 And that\u2019s when it occurred to me that maybe what\u2019s happening is that this security guard\u2019s lawyer\u2026potentially has never met a Black person.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think if you\u2019ve never met a Black person in your life and your first Black person is Cardi B, that\u2019s a bit of a crash course.
