After the end of the flashy Peak TV<\/a> era, Kevin Beggs<\/a>, Lionsgate Television Group chair and chief creative officer, sees green shoots signaling a hopeful recovery for the global TV business.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe streaming wars kind of came to a crashing end, both with Covid and the strikes, and now there\u2019s been a nice little resurgence that\u2019s happening, but nothing of the order of what we saw,\u201d Beggs on Tuesday told the Access Canada Summit in Toronto presented by The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To take advantage of better times, Beggs argued Lionsgate TV needs to take disciplined bets on new series, like the first-look deal the studio signed with Seth Rogen<\/a> and Evan Goldberg<\/a>\u2019s Point Grey Pictures<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really yielded a great result,\u201d he added about The Studio on Apple TV+ during a conversation with Maer Roshan<\/a>, Editor-in-Chief of THR at the Omni King Edward Hotel, midway through the Toronto Film Festival.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
