While many people already knew who Malin Akerman<\/strong> was before her starring role on The Hunting Wives, she quickly became a “lesbian icon” for her role as Margo Banks. More than one month after the Netflix show premiered in July, she has finally reacted to the fan-given title.<\/p>\n While appearing on the Tuesday, September 9, episode of the “Shut Up Evan” podcast<\/a>, host Evan Ross Katz<\/strong> asked Akerman, 47, if she ever thought she would “become a lesbian icon.”<\/p>\n “I did not. And I love it. I’ve gotten a nickname. ‘Mother.’ The highest respect. I’m like, ‘Thank you. Thank you very much,'” she said.<\/p>\n Akerman also insisted that she’s been loving her new reputation and hopes it doesn’t go away. “I’m loving every moment of it! Keep bringing it!” she said.<\/p>\n Season 1 of The Hunting Wives follows residents of a fictional town in East Texas.
