Paul Mescal has only kind words to say to The Beatles’ Paul McCartney.<\/p>\n
In a recent red carpet interview<\/a> during the Toronto International Film Festival, Mescal had a quick conversation with Entertainment Tonight <\/em>about his new film Hamnet<\/em> and the upcoming four-part Beatles biopic that theactor will be starring in alongside George Harrison, Joseph Quinn and Barry Keoghan.<\/p>\n Directed by Sam Mendes, the Beatles biopic film series is still in its development stages and is set for a joint theatrical release in April 2028. Each film will focus on a single member of The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr), providing their individual perspectives on the band’s story.<\/p>\n The 29-year-old actor admitted to ET<\/em> that he hung out with McCartney recently, and called him “one of the greatest artists to ever do it” and said that he “fundamentally changed the world.”<\/p>\n Currently, Mescal is at the Toronto International Film Festival for his upcoming movie, Hamnet<\/em>, which follows William Shakespeare and his wife, Agnes, who are celebrating the birth of their son, Hamnet. However, when tragedy strikes and Hamnet dies at a young age, it inspires Shakespeare to write his timeless masterpiece Hamlet<\/em>.<\/p>\n “It was a crazy thing to say to go from Shakespeare to Paul McCartney. Kind of insane,” he said. “I don’t think you’ll ever be able to fully take that in.”<\/p>\n Mescal’s career took off in 2020 with Hulu\u2019s Normal People<\/em>, where his portrayal of Connell Waldron earned him widespread acclaim, a BAFTA TV Award and an Emmy nomination. Following his rise to fame, Mescal transitioned into film, starring in critically praised projects such as The Lost Daughter<\/em>, God\u2019s Creatures <\/em>and Gladiator II<\/em>.
