James McAvoy was allegedly “punched by a stranger in a bar during a night out” whilst promoting his new film in Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n James<\/a>, 46, was said to be enjoying a night out with his wife, Lisa Liberati, in Toronto on Monday when the incident occurred. The movie is his directorial debut, and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The new flick, which is based on a true story, follows two Scots – Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd – who trick music label bosses into signing them a record deal by posing as Eminem’s prot\u00e9g\u00e9s from America.<\/p>\n With the name, Silibil N\u2019 Brains, the pair went on to party with Madonna, appear on MTV, and even tour with D12, a collective made up of rap legends.<\/p>\n The cast features lesser-known, but ultra-talented actors such as Samuel Bottomley and Amber Anderson.
