Michael Chaves, the director of The Conjuring: Last Rites<\/strong>, joked about the prospect of the continuation of the franchise with comedian and actor Matt Rife<\/strong> and Annabelle<\/strong>. This is despite the fact that Last Rites is slated to be the final movie in the Conjuring franchise, which currently has nine entries: four Conjuring movies, three Annabelle features, and two The Nun movies.<\/p>\n Chaves humorously proposed the idea of the next chapter of The Conjuring franchise featuring comedian and actor Matt Rife. This came after Rife announced on social media that he had bought Ed and Lorraine Warren\u2019s home and occult museum. Patrick Wilson portrays Ed in these movies, while Vera Farmiga essays the role of Lorraine.<\/p>\n \u201cIt does though feel like a great new chapter. If there ever was a Phase 2 of the [Conjuring] series, I think that it should begin with him [Rife] just turning these viral bits with each one of the artifacts and it just goes horribly wrong,\u201d\u00a0Chaves told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>.<\/p>\n The filmmaker also clarified that he has \u201cno idea\u201d why Rife made such a decision. He also laughed while expressing his concerns for the comic. \u201cI\u2019m deeply concerned\u2026deeply concerned,\u201d Chaves said. \u201cI dunno. As long as he\u2019s got the instruction manual or whatever the blessing procedure is, I\u2019m sure it will all be fine. I guess I am curious. I haven\u2019t read enough about it to know why he did it.\u201d<\/p>\n Back in August, Rife announced on Instagram<\/a> that he had acquired the Warrens\u2019 home and Occult Museum. He added in the post that as part of the purchase, he was \u201cthe legal guardian for at least the next 5 years, of the entire haunted collection including the Annabelle doll, with my good friend @eltoncastee [Elton Castee]!!\u201d<\/p>\n He proceeded to speak about his interest in \u201cthe paranormal and all things haunted\u201d and expressed his love for the Conjuring movies.
