CHICAGO (WLS) — <\/span>A Chicago nonprofit that blends music with mentorship is preparing for its biggest event of the year.<\/p>\n

Guitars Over Guns<\/a>, founded in 2008, has paired thousands of students with mentors while using music and art to boost confidence, creativity and opportunity.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Sept. 20, the group will host its annual fundraiser Band Together 2025 at Amazing Space, 207 S. Desplaines St., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event supports programs that provide students with mentorship, access to the arts and career pathways, along with mental health resources through its M-Power initiative.<\/p>\n

Chicago Regional Director Andre “Add-2” Daniels says the night will highlight the power of music and storytelling to connect young people with the community. Singer-songwriter Nashon Holloway will also perform live in support of the cause.<\/p>\n

Guests are encouraged to “dress to express.” Tickets and sponsorships are available through Guitars Over Guns, with proceeds directly funding mentorship programs across Chicago.<\/p>\n
