France has unveiled a shortlist of five films for its submission to the international feature race: Richard Linklater<\/a>\u2019s \u201cNouvelle Vague<\/a>,\u201d a love letter to the French cinematic movement known as the New Wave<\/a> acquired by Netflix<\/a>; Jafar Panahi<\/a>\u2019s Palme d\u2019Or-winning \u201cIt Was Just an Accident<\/a>,\u201d which he shot in exile aided by French producers and was picked up by Neon<\/a>; Rebecca Zlotowski<\/a>\u2019s Sony Pictures Classics<\/a> film \u201cA Private Life<\/a>,\u201d which played at Cannes and stars Jodie Foster<\/a>; \u201cArco<\/a>,\u201d an animated feature voiced and produced by Natalie Portman<\/a> (also bought by Neon); and Hafsia Herzi<\/a>\u2019s queer coming-of-age drama \u201cThe Little Sister<\/a>\u201d which won Cannes\u2019 best actress for Nadia Melliti<\/a>.<\/p>\n
