Cash Cobain<\/strong> had to go back on a statement he made about Jay-Z<\/strong> possibly releasing new music. During an interview with\u00a0Billboard Unfiltered Live<\/em><\/a> on Sept. 3, he said that Hov might be dropping a new project.<\/p>\n \u201cThe king of New York is Jay-Z. It\u2019s Jay-Z. Multi-Platinum albums [and] president of Def Jam. He\u2019s like the richest rapper, right? What didn\u2019t he do?\u201d he said of the Brooklyn star. \u201cI heard Jay-Z is about to drop some s*** that\u2019s gonna shake the world. That\u2019s what I heard.\u201d<\/p>\n Cash later took to X to share that the rumors he\u2019d fueled weren\u2019t true.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cDam just got off the phone with Hov lol thank yall,\u201d he wrote<\/a>\u00a0on Sept. 9. He followed up with a\u00a0post<\/a> about what they\u2019d discussed: \u201cWhen I was on the phone with Hov he said that he is absolutely not dropping an album.\u00a0that messed me up tho.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Cash wasn\u2019t the only one contributing to the speculation of a new Jay-Z release.\u00a0<\/span>Producer and former\u00a0Roc-A-Fella Records signee Memphis Bleek <\/strong>previously\u00a0told\u00a0Drink Champs <\/em>that\u00a0<\/em>Hov\u00a0didn\u2019t deny that he was cooking something up.<\/p>\n \u201cI just was with him in Vegas,\u201d he recalled. \u201cHe just came out on the show, and my n****, they went stupid.
