Sabrina Carpenter stunned at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards<\/a>, wearing multiple outfits throughout the night.<\/p>\n Carpenter wore a dress to a VMAs after-party that featured multicolored straps with mirrored pieces and sequins. Normally, this wouldn\u2019t be \u201cnews\u201d in the pro wrestling world. However, as one fan pointed out<\/a>, Carpenter\u2019s after-party dress definitely looked like it was inspired by something Shawn Michaels would have worn in the mid-\u201990s.<\/p>\n Despite speculation, the Carpenter\u2019s black, pink and teal dress wasn\u2019t inspired by Shawn Michaels. In fact, the piece was designed by legendary fashion designer Bob Mackie, and it was an homage to the same one that Cher<\/a> wore during a performance of \u201cShame Shame Shame\u201d with Tina Turner in 1975. Turner also wore a matching dress during the performance, which took place on \u201cThe Cher Show.\u201d<\/p>\n Mackie praised Carpenter for wearing multiple pieces of his at the VMAs, including the \u201cSwamp Dress\u201d from his 1986 collection. \u201cThe fully embellished cocktail dress is multicolor sequin and navy bugle beaded on black silk with an asymmetric fringe hem,\u201d Mackie said about the \u201cSwamp Dress\u201d on Instagram<\/a>. Mackie also congratulated Carpenter for her Album of the Year win.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time Carpenter has been compared to a WWE personality. She also wore a coat to the 2025 Met Gala that drew comparisons to Gunther<\/a>.
