Now, the country music<\/a> legend\u2019s legacy will be further solidified when an album that has sat on the shelf for roughly 40 years will be posthumously released later this month.<\/p>\n Pride\u2019s forthcoming album \u201cEndlessly: A Tribute to Brook Benton\u201d<\/a> will drop on what would have been Benton\u2019s 94th birthday on Friday, Sept. 19. The album, which features \u201ca delightful set of R&B productions,\u201d was originally recorded in Dallas, Texas in the mid-1980s while Pride was in-between recording deals, an online press release<\/a> states.<\/p>\n The recordings were rediscovered at Pride\u2019s CECCA Productions office in Dallas and mixed and mastered by late audio engineer\/producer Bob Pickering after Pride\u2019s death from complications related to COVID-19 in 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cOther than digitally transferring, mixing and mastering the original performances, virtually no other post-production has been applied \u2014 no instrumentation has been added and no trendy artificial intelligence has been used to modify or enhance the vocals or recordings in any way,” the press release states.<\/p>\n \u201cEndlessly: A Tribute to Brook Benton\u201d features a roster of accomplished musicians such as legendary bassist Chuck Rainey, drummer\/percussionist Gene Glover, jazz pianist Fred Crane, guitarist Jerry Matheny and Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame inductee Billy Briggs Jr. (Bob Wills).<\/p>\n \u201cOf course, nothing conveys \u2018vintage recording\u2019 better than timeless orchestral strings.
