The post FX\u2019s Dave Is Definitely Over, Andrew Santino Confirms<\/a> appeared first on Consequence<\/a>.<\/p>\n For those hoping to see more of Dave \u201cLil Dicky<\/a>\u201d Burd\u2019s FX comedy series Dave<\/i><\/a>, the news isn\u2019t good. In an interview with Variety<\/i><\/a> about his upcoming stand-up special, Dave<\/i> co-star Andrew Santino explained that despite reports that the show was \u201con pause\u201d when its third season wrapped in 2023, \u201cthat thing is gone.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t even know why that narrative is out there, that\u2019s not true. We\u2019re not doing the show,\u201d Santino continued. \u201cI think people said it was on pause to protect the relationship of the show, but that\u2019s all nonsense. The show is done. We are all going our own way and doing our own thing.\u201d<\/p>\n Santino expressed no ill will towards the series, adding that \u201cit was a great run, and we all enjoyed it very much. It ran its beautiful little course, and that was a wonderful moment in time. I\u2019m happy I was a part of it, but in no world do I think the show would ever come back.\u201d<\/p>\n The decision to end the series, Santino says, wasn\u2019t one that involved him at all. \u201cI was a hired gun. That was between Dave Burd, Jeff Schaffer and FX. I had no power over what was happening. I kind of found out when everybody else found out that it wasn\u2019t coming back. But people saying, \u2018Perhaps we\u2019ll pause it and come back\u2019\u2026 I know better. Dad left to get cigarettes. He\u2019s not coming home.\u201d<\/p>\n It would admittedly be hard for Dave<\/i> to top its Season 3 finale<\/a>, which not only featured appearances from Rachel McAdams and Drake, but brought in Brad Pitt for an extended appearance that descended into violent madness. Speaking to Consequence<\/i> then, Burd said that \u201cI put my all into this season and I\u2019m so proud\u2026 I don\u2019t think there\u2019s a miss. All 10 episodes are so great. They\u2019re their own independent short films, different genres throughout, and every episode one-ups the next one. I feel like we did it as well as it could be done this season.\u201d And Burd wouldn\u2019t be the first creator to quit while he\u2019s ahead.<\/p>\n Dave<\/i> is streaming now on Hulu<\/a>, which also happens to be where Santino\u2019s new comedy special, White Noise<\/i>, premieres on Sept. 12th.<\/p>\n Popular Posts<\/p>\n
