Taylor Frankie Paul has been chosen as the leading lady for Season 22 of ABC\u2019s \u201cThe Bachelorette.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n The news was revealed on an episode of Alex Cooper\u2019s hit podcast \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d on Wednesday.<\/p>\n When asked how she was feeling, Paul answered \u201csurreal,\u201d adding, \u201cit has not hit me in this moment. I\u2019m just thinking about it, and it\u2019s not real. And it\u2019s not going to be until I think the limo is pulling up, you know? And meeting the people.\u201d<\/p>\n Paul had previously filmed a video joking that she should be on \u201cThe Bachelorette,\u201d which seemingly helped her get her foot in the door.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople started tagging \u2018<\/i>The Bachelorette,\u2019 <\/i>like, \u2018You should, you should, you should,\u2019\u201d she recalled to Cooper. \u201cI don\u2019t know if that got their attention or someone was like, \u2018Yeah, maybe.\u2019 It was a joke to me, like unattainable.\u201d<\/p>\n Paul, who was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised Mormon, first rose to fame on TikTok. In 2020, she created #MomTok, a group of Utah-based Mormon moms who began creating lifestyle and dancing videos together.<\/p>\n The internet became fascinated with the #MomTok vcommunity, especially after Paul revealed that she and her now ex-husband, Tate Paul, were swinging within their friend group.<\/p>\n Hulu<\/a> pulled the curtain back even further on Paul and her friend\u2019s scandalous lives on \u201cThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,\u201d<\/a> which came out in Sept. 2024 and has since been nominated for an Emmy. The show featured Paul\u2019s 2023 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence after an altercation between her and her boyfriend at the time, Dakota Mortensen. Paul later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to probation.<\/p>\n Paul is a mom of three. She shares two children with her ex-husband Tate Paul, a son with Mortensen, who she began dating after her 2022 divorce. When discussing her decision to go through with \u201cThe Bachelorette,\u201d Paul admitted she had to think long and hard about the logistics. \u201cHow do I make this work? I\u2019m a co-parent. I have two baby daddies, not one, so I\u2019m dealing with two different people, my children, my home base is here. Can I travel that long? Can I be gone that long?\u201d she told Cooper.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d Season 22 is set to start filming this fall and will premiere in 2026.
