Global megastar Bad Bunny<\/a> concludes his 30-show residency<\/a> this weekend in Puerto Rico<\/a>.<\/p>\n The \u201cNo Me Quiero Ir de Aqu\u00ed<\/a>\u201d (\u201cI Don\u2019t Want to Leave Here\u201d) shows, which started in July at Jos\u00e9 Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, have generated an estimated $200 million<\/a> in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n The rapper and singer, who grew up in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, recently talked about some of the reasons why he decided not to tour in the United States for this run of shows.<\/p>\n (Puerto Rico is a territory of the U.S., but he is referring specifically to the states.)<\/p>\n One of those reasons is the stark reality of dangers posed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.<\/p>\n \u201cThere were many reasons why I didn\u2019t show up in the US<\/a>, and none of them were out of hate,\u201d Bad Bunny, 31, told i-D Magazine. \u201cI\u2019ve performed there many times. All of (the shows) have been successful. All of them have been magnificent. I\u2019ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the U.S.<\/p>\n \u201cBut specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the U.S. \u2026 People from the US could come here to see the show,\u201c he said. \u201dLatinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world. But there was the issue of \u2014 like, f—ing ICE could be outside<\/a> (my concert). The film hit theaters in August.<\/p>\n He also filmed \u201cHappy Gilmore 2<\/a>\u2033 with Adam Sandler<\/a> in New Jersey<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Netflix movie, in which Mart\u00ednez Ocasio plays Happy\u2019s new caddie Oscar Mejias<\/a>, was released in July.<\/p>\n The \u201cHappy Gilmore\u201d sequel had the largest opening of any Netflix movie<\/a> in the United States and the largest opening of any Sandler film<\/a>.<\/p>\n Thank you for reading.
