Comedy legend Michael Palin<\/a> detailed a frightening moment when he was held at gunpoint while filming his latest travel show in Venezuela. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Palin told The Mirror<\/a> that he and his crew were stopped by police while in the country, but it eventually turned into something bigger \u2015 with the National Guard and \u201cmen with rifles, bulletproof vests and helmets\u201d on the scene. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt was the kind of thing you\u2019d expect to encounter if an embassy was being bombed,\u201d he told the newspaper. \u201cIt was quite alarming.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He and his team were taken to the headquarters of SEBIN, the notorious national intelligence agency<\/a>, where the agents Google<\/a>d their captive and started watching old clips, including an interview of him talking about \u201cThe Life Of Brian.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Fortunately, they kept watching. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cEventually they got on to Monty Python clips and they watched the fish-slapping dance, which is always a good thing to show people,\u201d he said. \u201cNearly everyone in the world, from North Korea to Venezuela, cracks up when they see that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He and his crew were released.
