Reactions to the new Elvis<\/span> movie by Baz Luhrmann<\/strong><\/span> are beginning to roll in, praising the upcoming documentary about the iconic musician.<\/p>\n Luhrmann\u2019s newest movie based on Presley isn\u2019t like the the 2022 biopic he made that starred Austin Butler. Instead, his new documentary, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert<\/strong>, features long-lost footage of Presley from his residency in Las Vegas from 1969 and through the 1970s, as well as previously unseen footage from other tours from Presley\u2019s life.<\/p>\n The film recently had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and according to those who have seen it, it\u2019s one of the more exciting concert films ever made. According to Variety\u2019s<\/a> Owen Gleiberman, the movie is \u201ca revelation,\u201d and captures \u201cjust how intoxicating Elvis Presley was when he began to perform live in Las Vegas in 1969 and the early \u201970s.\u201d<\/p>\n TheWrap\u2019s<\/a> Steve Pond echoed those sentiments, calling the documentary \u201cnot revelatory for people who\u2019ve seen the existing films from the era, it\u2019s the most imaginative, generous and entertaining look at a time in which Elvis\u2019 comeback still had real life to it.\u201d<\/p>\n The celebrity.land\u2019s<\/a> Johnny Oleksinski also had high praise for the movie, calling it a \u201crousing musical act\u201d that also dives into the persona of Elvis as well. \u201cFor those who do not have a room in the house devoted to Elvis memorabilia,\u00a0or care a lick about the guy,\u00a0EPiC is still an energizing experience.
