Asked if she ever thinks about \u201cslowing down,\u201d the Oscar-winner laughed and said, \u201cYeah, but who can afford to do that? You know, if you don\u2019t marry well, you gotta keep working.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Though the reporter suggested that Goldberg \u201ccould probably afford\u201d life without having a gig, the comedic great said, \u201cNo, not by now. Not yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI gotta keep paying those bills, baby,\u201d added the star, who turns 70 in November.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Goldberg has talked about staying in the game for financial reasons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In fact, the actor received significant pushback last year when she told her fellow panelists,<\/a> \u201cI work for a living… If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, OK? So, I\u2019m a working person, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While it\u2019s unclear how much Goldberg is paid for her gig on \u201cThe View\u201d these days, back in 2016, Variety reported<\/a> she had renewed her contract for somewhere in the $5 million to $6 million range.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
