Sapporo-based alt-emo three-piece Tattletale<\/strong> have released their new single \u2018babbling\u2019<\/em> (\u2018Katachi no nai kotoba no y\u014d ni\u2019)<\/em>, arriving ahead of the band\u2019s international live debut on Next Music from Tokyo vol 17<\/em>, a cross-Canada showcase of independent Japanese artists.<\/p>\n Formed in 2020, Tattletale built their name in Hokkaido live houses with a sound that pivots between emo, math rock, and post-hardcore. Their intricate technical work and melodic aggression have drawn comparisons to acts like Ling tosite sigure and Bloodthirsty Butchers, setting themselves apart through sonic contrasts and constant tonal shifts.<\/p>\n The new single adds a new element to the band\u2019s approach, building tension through a careful push and pull between layered and minimal arrangements before giving way to the band\u2019s signature velocity.<\/p>\n Later this month, the band will join Haku., Carpenter\u2019sBlue, and Banshimoku for Next Music from Tokyo vol 17<\/a><\/em>. Since its launch in 2010, the project has earned a cult following in Canada for spotlighting acts well outside the country\u2019s mainstream. Both Toronto dates at the Horseshoe Tavern have already sold out, with shows to follow in Montr\u00e9al and Vancouver later this month.<\/p>\n
