In his explosive new tell-all book The Royal Butler, f<\/i>ormer Buckingham Palace butler Grant Harrold<\/b>\u00a0 \u2014 who served King Charles III <\/b>for seven years when he was Prince of Wales \u2014 says that Meghan Markle<\/b> <\/a>had completely unrealistic expectations about royal life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the problem with Meghan is that she went into the organization and she assumed that after watching all the Disney princesses that she thought it was going to be like that,\u201d he told Page Six <\/i><\/a>in an interview published September 9.<\/p>\n

Harrold also recalled one telling incident where the former Suits<\/i> actress, 44,\u00a0 wanted to host friends for lunch on a day she had official royal duties.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe would rather have lunch with her friends, thinking that was fine and it wasn\u2019t,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cThat\u2019s not how it works. You can\u2019t change it.\u201d<\/p>\n

During his time with the royal family, the butler also witnessed firsthand how tight Prince Harry<\/b>, 40, and Prince William<\/b>, 43, used to be during his service from 2004 to 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe two of them were not just the best of friends, they were inseparable,\u201d recalled Harrold. \u201cAt Highgrove, they were always together. They were walking together, in the pub together, on motorbikes together.\u201d<\/p>\n

But those brotherly bond days are long gone. \u201cI was genuinely shocked when they fell out,\u201d he admitted. \u201cThere must be something deeper going on that we\u2019re not being told.\u201d<\/p>\n
