Actress Polly Holliday, best known for playing the wisecracking waitress Flo on the sitcom \u201cAlice,\u201d has died. She was 88.<\/p>\n
Her theatrical agent, Dennis Aspland, confirmed her death on Sept. 9 to the New York Times<\/a>. It is believed she died due to pneumonia.<\/p>\n Holliday garnered national fame playing the tart-tongued Flo on the sitcom, who frequently spouted her catchphrase, \u201cKiss My Grits\u201d to anyone who dared cross her. <\/p>\n She earned several Emmy nominations for playing Flo and won a Golden Globe Award for best supporting actress in a television series in 1979 and 1980.
