Twisted Sister is back. Nearly a decade after wrapping up their farewell tour, the band behind \u201cWe\u2019re Not Gonna Take It\u201d and \u201cI Wanna Rock\u201d has confirmed a worldwide 50th-anniversary run<\/a> in 2026. But one longtime member won\u2019t be joining them on stage.<\/p>\n During a chat with radio host Eddie Trunk on Wednesday, September 10, frontman Dee Snider revealed that classic-era bassist Mark \u201cThe Animal\u201d Mendoza will sit out the reunion.<\/p>\n \u201cI can only simply say irreconcilable differences and leave it at that,\u201d Snider, 70, said. \u201cI can’t get into the weeds and I can’t go down that path and I won\u2019t, but irreconcilable differences, and people change. I\u2019m not saying he changed. Maybe we changed, whatever it is.\u201d<\/p>\n Stepping into the role is Russell Pz\u00fctto, a bassist who\u2019s long been in Snider\u2019s orbit. He recorded on For the Love of Metal<\/em> and Leave a Scar<\/em> and once filled in for Mendoza during a show in Belgium. \u201cHe did an amazing job on those two albums,\u201d Snider said. \u201cHe was a great guy to tour with the band. I plead the Fifth. I can\u2019t go beyond that, but things have happened that I don\u2019t see being reconciled.\u201d<\/p>\n The 2026 lineup will feature Snider, guitarist Jay Jay French, guitarist Eddie Ojeda, drummer Joe \u201cSeven\u201d Franco, and Pz\u00fctto on bass. Specific dates haven\u2019t been revealed yet. For fans, this marks Twisted Sister\u2019s first major outing since 2016. At that time, they brought in Mike Portnoy following the death of longtime drummer A.J. Pero. They briefly reunited again in 2023 for their Metal Hall of Fame induction.<\/p>\n Formed out of the New Jersey club circuit in the early \u201970s, Twisted Sister became MTV mainstays in 1984 with Stay Hungry<\/em>, which has since gone triple platinum<\/a>.
