An up-and-coming country music star has one or two things to celebrate this week.<\/p>\n
Zach Top<\/strong> released his second studio album on August 29, and two of his hit tracks have just landed on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Good Times & Tan Lines” was sitting pretty at No. 75 on Thursday, September 11, while “South Of Sanity” was at No. 98.<\/p>\n The breakout singer-songwriter, 27, was born in Washington state and has seen success on the coveted Billboard charts before. In May of last year, his fan-favorite song “I Never Lie” peaked at No. 24.<\/p>\n Top dropped his highly anticipated sophomore album,\u00a0Ain\u2019t In It For My Health, on August 29.\u00a0His debut studio album, Cold Beer & Country Music, was released on April 5, 2024. It was nominated for album of the year at the 59th annual CMA Awards, becoming the first debut album in a decade to receive such an honor, Billboard reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n With his latest album, Top effectively expanded his classic country style and opened up to Billboard<\/a> about the creative process behind following up his debut smash.<\/p>\n “You always have in the back of your mind the age-old tale of the sophomore slump,\u201d he told the magazine. “:I wouldn\u2019t say there were no nerves, but not a ton. When I put out that first record, I wasn\u2019t doing anything that I didn\u2019t love and that I didn\u2019t think was entirely me. When I put that out and people loved it as much as they did, it was kind of a sigh of relief. It\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, well s–t,\u2019 I can keep doing that. That\u2019s just me.”<\/p>\n The breakout country star has made headlines in other favorable ways this summer.
